Edinburgh’s art aficionados will be kicking themselves, if they miss out on the fantastic work of Mark Wallinger.
You can see it currently on display at the Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh’s Old Town, between the 4th of March and the 4th of June 2017.
The exhibition is actually going to be executed in two separate parts, one at the Fruitmarket Gallery and the other at the Dundee Contemporary Arts, and if you don’t know what to expect, here’s a few things to consider:
Mark Wallinger’s exhibitions consciously and conceptually invoke a psychological test, they challenge what you extract from them by highlighting your own subjective experience, feelings and emotions. He uses the whole notion of ‘Inkblot’, originally tested by psychologists for many decades, to elicit some kind of response to determine one’s state of mind.
Having achieved many accolades, including winning the The Turner Prize – Wallinger remains one of the most authentic and charismatic contemporary authors of today and the decision to showcase an exhibition of this caliber in Edinburgh, will make it an interesting experience to say the least!
