A short business trip to Barcelona turned into a pleasurable unexpected escape, after staying for three nights at the brilliant Pullman Barcelona Skipper. Having travelled to the Catalan city for a two-day networking event, I booked the hotel for three days so I could enjoy one of Europe’s top cities in my own time and on my own terms.
A close friend who had previously stayed at the Pullman recommended it, so I booked three nights in an executive superior room at the Hotel which felt immediately nostalgic upon arrival. As well as being sophisticated with a sleek design, it also has the added bonus of being near the beach and marina of Barcelona.
I ventured into town for a little wander around and the first thing i did was finding a place to eat. The food in Barcelona is just out of this world, with local and international cuisine restaurants available on every corner of the city, there’s plenty to choose from.
I unashamedly spent the rest of my stay romanticising the city on my own. I hoped on the subway, went on trams, visited a few different museums including the Picasso Museum and the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, met and chatted away with lovely locals, visited a couple of its famous bohemian bars such as Bar Mutis and the Bobby Gin, and of course every night I strolled along the gorgeous beach located near the hotel.
All in all, it was an amazing experience which I will for sure repeat very soon. Gracias Barcelona!
